Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
The war over ancient Hyrule, for two on a split screen — with half a controller each.
What it is about
A Zelda game in which you fight hundreds of enemies at once: the prelude to Tears of the Kingdom, the war over ancient Hyrule.
Switch 2 only, and there with a split screen for two — a single Joy-Con 2 per person is enough.
Our verdict for couples
With one Switch 2 this is unusually convenient for a couple: split screen for the whole campaign, and each of you needs only a single Joy-Con 2. So nothing has to be bought to start playing together tonight. If the second person is elsewhere, GameShare steps in, and then one copy covers you even over distance. The game itself belongs to a kind you either like or do not: you clear battlefields, hundreds of enemies at once, and the appeal lies in causing something big with a few buttons. The reviews consider it one of the strongest entries in the series and agree just as much that it will not convince anyone who has no time for the formula. Playing as a pair makes it easier: you divide the map between you instead of running back and forth.
Pros

- Through GameShare one copy covers two consoles as well
- As a pair you divide the map instead of running back and forth alone
Cons
- If the Warriors formula does nothing for you, this will not convince you either — the reviews say so themselves
- The difficulty is unevenly distributed; several reviews mention spikes
