Overcooked! 2
Kitchen chaos against the clock — a classic among relationship tests.
What it is about
One kitchen, orders by the second, and everything by hand: chop, fry, plate, serve, wash up. Every dish has a fixed sequence, every plate comes back dirty, and anyone who delivers late loses points.
The kitchens themselves work against you. They sit on rafts that drift apart, on conveyor belts, in hot-air balloons or in the middle of a road; paths shift while you are walking on them. Talking to each other is therefore not a courtesy but the actual task.
You play locally on one screen or online. Each of you controls one cook — who does what is agreed beforehand, and then three more times, louder.
Our verdict for couples
One kitchen, two people, and from the third order on the floor starts moving. You chop, fry, wash up and shout at each other the whole time about who has which pan — at some point you stop shouting and start yelling. Anyone who knows they get loud under time pressure will know it again here within ten minutes. Anyone who comes for exactly that will find little better: a round takes three minutes, and afterwards you either laugh or call it a night.

What other co-op fans say
Hardly any review mentions the cooking — they all talk about the shouting. The pattern is always the same: first a clean agreement about who chops, who cooks, who washes up, then the kitchen starts moving, something catches fire, and suddenly nobody knows who was responsible for the rice. That is exactly where the appeal comes from, and the reviews celebrate it as a stress test you sign up for. Practically nobody recommends playing it alone — the advice is consistently to bring someone you will still like afterwards.
- “Overall, a banger of a Co-op game that i would recommend to everyone. Just don't play it alone, please.”
- “everything starts off perfectly organized and then, within minutes, everyone is screaming at each other because someone forgot to wash the plates”
- “Coordinating who chops, cooks, washes and serves sounds simple until the kitchen starts moving, something catches fire, and suddenly nobody knows who's responsible for the rice.”
- “having a buddy to laugh with (or at you or vice versa) by your side between all the frustration, the yelling, and the chaos is part of the course”
- “If you want to suffer, and ruin your friendships and relationships, play this game.”
